We have partnered with the Gies College of Business at The University of Illinois to give students access to TrendSpider to work with our backtesting engine to explore and find strategies that beat the markets. This project includes researching and finding a strategy that beats "buy and hold" in the DOW30 on the daily timeframe for a 3,000-candle lookback period.

Information about the MS Finance Practicum:

In the MS Finance Practicum, a team of graduate students in the Master of Science in Finance (MSF) program at Gies College of Business work with corporate partners to complete a business project. These projects vary by company and needs, and the product at the end of the semester can be a report, data set, recommendation, or other deliverable. Student teams devote more than 300 hours of work on a project over the course of approximately 12 weeks.

Through the practicum, students gain valuable experience and have an opportunity to significantly impact an organization. Corporate partners see the practicum project as an opportunity to use talented, external manpower to tackle a project that requires specialized insight or tools.
