TrendSpider Software Update: Introducing Trading Bots
Hello Traders, and welcome to a very exciting new software announcement from your friends at TrendSpider. We are thrilled to announce the addition of Trading Bots to the platform! Details after the jump.
Have you ever wished that you could turn your favorite TrendSpider scans, alerts, or scripts into actionable signals that are routed to SMS / Email or ANYWHERE webhooks are accepted?
Like your favorite broker to create an automated trading system, or your followers via Slack, Discord, or Twitter? Maybe you just want to do a little private strategy forward testing for yourself! With our all-new Trading Bots feature all of this is possible and intuitively built for anyone to use.
For many, Trading Bots were the missing link that unlocks real capability and time-saving in your day-to-day trading life, let’s jump into how it works.
Setting Up Your Trading Bot
A Trading Bot setup can be accessed in one of two places; Either within the Strategy Tester after a test has been run via the ‘Launch As A Trading Bot’ button or via the toolbar in the top of your charts. Note the images below.
To get to the setup screen, either click the ‘Launch As A Trading Bot’ button or click the three dots next to the ‘Alerts & Bots’ button and choose the ‘Create A Trading Bot’ option.
Next, you’ll see the screen pictured below. We call this screen the ‘Bot Configuration Window.’ Here you’ll define everything about your bot; It’s title, strategy, time frame, and where you want it to send the signal to.
You can connect directly with the order engine of your choice, send signals to a private Slack, Discord, or Twitter channel, and even connect with Zapier, IFTTT, Make and more.
For a detailed walkthrough of the ‘Bot Configuration Window’, please read through our knowledge base article.
Trading Bots Widget
To view all of the trading bots that you have running, we created an additional widget that can be added to your dashboard in the side panel. Just click on your ‘Sidebar’ button, select ‘Add New Widget’ and then choose the ‘Trading Bots’ option. With this widget enabled, you can easily keep an eye on all the strategies that you currently have active in your system.
Much like your multifactor alerts, you can ‘Clone’, ‘Edit’, ‘Remove’, or ‘Stop’ any bot by hovering over it and selecting the corresponding option. These options will appear as small, yellow icons on the far right-hand side of the strategy title. Remember, as well, that all Trading Bots are set by default to run forever!
