Hello Everyone! We are happy to announce the first in a series of updates that pertain to the availability of non-technical data in TrendSpider. In this update, we enhance the TrendSpider Market Scanner by enabling new conditions for Earnings, Dividends, and Splits! The ability to incorporate these important market events into your scans will save you time when searching for US equity assets with upcoming major corporate actions, as well as give you the ability to look back and find US equities that have recently experienced such an event.

Market Scanner Now Offers Conditions for Earnings, Dividends, and Splits

To scan using Earnings, Dividends or Splits, start by selecting the Market Scanner from the top of your chart window. When the scanner is open select “Add parameters” and then “Condition” which will populate a dropdown list with a few top-level selections. Previously, you would have been able to choose only from Indicators, Price Action, and Candlestick Patterns. Now, you will see new options for Earnings, Dividends, and Splits in the drop-down menu.

For each of the above, you will be met with an additional condition list.

  • Splits:
    • Type of split: Forward or Reverse
    • Condition: Declaration date, Ex-date, or Effective date
    • Search parameter: X days ago, Within last X days, in X days, within next X days, or today.
  • Dividends:
    • Type of event: Declaration Date, Ex-Date, Record Date
    • Search parameter: X days ago, Within last X days, in X days, within next X days, or today.
  • Earnings:
    • Search parameter: X days ago, Within last X days, in X days, within next X days, or today.

Scanning added for earnings, dividends, and splits in TrendSpider.

You can use these conditions together. For example, you can search for any US equity that has experienced either a forward or reverse split by grouping the conditions together into one and selecting any as the operator. You may also incorporate these new operators into your other technical scans.

New Example #SpiderScans to Help Get You Started With This New Capability

With this update, we also release five new Example Scanner Configurations to help give you a place to start learning how to use Earnings, Dividends, and Split data in the Market Scanner. These scanners search for the following:

  • Earnings in last 7 days: Find any US equity that has reported earnings within the last 7 days.
  • Earnings in next 7 days: Find any US equity that is expected to report earnings within the next 7 days.
  • Upcoming Stock Splits: Split (forward/reverse) next 180 days.
  • Ex-Dividend In Next 3 Days: Find any US equity that is expected to have an Ex-Dividend date within the next 3 days.

Keep in mind, you can customize and clone any of these scans to make them your own!
