TrendSpider Software Update: New Scan Parameters For Dividends / Earnings / Smart Checklists

Hello Everyone! We are happy to bring you a small but powerful upgrade to TrendSpider’s scanner parameter functionality for Dividends, Earnings, and Smart Checklists.

New “Values” Option for Earnings in Scripts

When selecting “Earnings” as a parameter in the Market Scanner or Smart Checklist, you are now meet with two options, Earnings Dates, and Earnings Values. The new Earnings Values function can be used to scan for a value that represents EPS (earnings per share), Surprise% (EPS Surprise percent, which is a difference between analysts’ expectations for EPS and the actual EPS reported), and Change% (which is a difference between the reported EPS and the EPS which has been reported for the same quarter of a previous year).

New “Values” Option for Dividends in Scripts

Much like Earnings functionality, selecting “Dividends” as a parameter in the Market Scanner or Smart Checklist, you are now meet with the same two options, Dividend Dates, and Dividend Values. The new Dividend Values function can be used to scan for a value that represents per share Dividend value OR the yield at date value.

The new “Values” functionality can be used with our Smart Checklist! This allows traders to visualize all of their technical conditions as well as fundamental conditions like “Is this a high yield stock” “Does the stock have EPS growth over the past year” before considering an entry.

New Pre-Made Example Scripts

  • 4 Quarters Positive Earnings Surprises. This script will work across the platform and looks for 4 quarters where the earnings surprise has exceeded the previous one.
  • 4 Quarters of Positive Dividend Growth. This script will work across the platform and searches for 4 quarters where the company’s Dividend Yield has increased relative to the previous quarter.
