September was a busy month here at TrendSpider. From opening up paid content in the Store to giving Sidekick the ability to create and analyze custom scanners, these updates continue to make the platform more intuitive. Let’s dive into what’s new.

Quality of Life Updates

Paid Store Content Is Live

  • The TrendSpider Store now supports paid content.
  • Everyone can now sell their own indicators, strategies, and scanners directly in the Store.
  • This gives creators, educators, and system developers a new way to share and monetize their work.

Expanded Color Tag Options

  • We’ve added more color tag options for symbol organization, based on user requests.
  • These colors can be used to visually organize symbols in watchlists and other parts of the platform, giving you more flexibility for categorizing setups, sectors, or strategies.

Sidekick AI Updates

Sidekick Can Now Design and Run Scans

Sidekick Creating a Scan
  • Sidekick can now design and run scans directly within TrendSpider.
  • While scanning, Sidekick acts as an AI agent, reflecting on what it intended to search for versus how scanners recognized the request.
  • If the scan result doesn’t match Sidekick’s intended search, it can automatically rephrase and rerun the scan to self-correct.
  • Note: Sidekick scanning is currently not available on mobile, Dashboards, or MSV.

Free Sidekick Users Get More Messages

  • Free Sidekick users now get 25 messages per month, up from the previous limit of 10.

New Sidekick Buttons Across the Platform

Sidekick buttons now appear in more places throughout TrendSpider for instant insights:

  • Sidebar Widgets: Buttons added to the News, Unusual Options, and Seasonality widgets enable Sidekick to explain what’s happening with a single click.
  • What’s Happening Now (WHN): All widget types—including those inside Dashboards—now include Sidekick AI buttons to generate instant insights.

Other Sidekick Enhancements

  • Claude 4.5 has been added as an available model in Sidekick.
  • Sidekick-generated charts are now cleaner and more accurate (applies to charts created after the update).

Custom Scripting Updates

Human Language Script Creation and Editing

Human Language Script Builder
  • The new “human language” script creation and editing mechanic is now available everywhere except the Strategy Tester.
  • This feature also supports speech recognition, so you can dictate your conditions.
  • The new human language input is now the default form of the Visual Script editor, replacing the old point-and-click view.
  • You can still opt into the old editor:
    • Click “Skip to point & click editor” below the text box.
    • Use the “…” button to set your preferred default mode.
  • The old “human language conditions” mechanic is fully removed.

Default Scanning Universe Update

  • The default scanning universe is now SPX100 instead of Dow 30, providing a broader set of symbols by default.

New Default “Current Candle” Setting

  • “Current candle” is now checked by default for all newly created scanners, saving time when building new scans.
