Comprehensive CME Spread Support

CME spreads involve buying and selling related futures contracts to capitalize on price differences or movements. These strategies are often used to manage risk, hedge positions, or seize opportunities in relative pricing. We now support nearly all spreads traded on the CME, including these types:

Types of CME Spreads

  • Calendar Spreads: Involves buying and selling futures contracts for the same underlying asset but with different expiration dates.
  • Butterfly Spreads: A combination of multiple calendar spreads, designed to profit from minimal movement in the underlying asset. For example, HO:BF J25-K25-M25 (Heating Oil contracts for January, March, and May).
  • Interproduct (IP) Spreads: Spread trades involving different but related commodities. For example, NGU25HHU26 (Natural Gas contracts with different specifications).
  • Strip Spreads: A sequence of futures contracts for consecutive months, often used for averaging. For example, HO:SA 12M F27 (12-month average contract for Heating Oil).
  • Other Spread Types: These include custom combinations designed for specific market strategies or needs.

Full Calendar Contract Coverage

To complement this expanded support for CME spreads, our calendar coverage now includes 140,000 instruments—a significant leap from the 50,000 previously supported. This ensures full visibility across a broader range of contracts, enabling you to analyze and act on long-term opportunities with confidence.

Fractional Price Notation for Bonds

Fractional price notation is now supported for bonds and similar instruments. For example, you’ll now see 113’00 for contracts like ZBH25—both on charts and in watchlists. This pricing system, used primarily in U.S. Treasury bond markets, allows traders to communicate prices more precisely, as bond prices typically move in very small increments.

Additional Updates and Changes

This update includes several enhancements designed to make your analysis experience even smoother. Here’s what’s new:

  • Futures contract expiration markers
  • Forex price change in pips
  • CBOE indexes restored
  • New dynamic ‘Stocktwits’ watchlist

Futures Contract Expiration Markers

To help you manage futures trades more effectively, we’ve added vertical markers on charts to indicate the current contract expiration date. This feature provides immediate context, allowing you to stay on top of key deadlines.

We’ve reinstated support for several CBOE indexes, including the popular $TNX. This means you can now track key benchmarks with ease. Real-time updates for these indexes are in progress and will be confirmed soon.
